Lots goin' on here.....

WOW! Life happens and I just get so caught up in it I forget to post. Can't believe it has been over a week. haha

We had a fun day for Anna's birthday on the 9th. Than we had our local home school group's Fall Kickoff Picnic on the 13th, which was SO much fun. We ate, played football, had a 3 legged race, and other activities I can't even remember at the moment. I think we had nearly 28 families show up. I know Jimmy will not mind if I post the picture of him and Charles as they came in FIRST place in the adults! haha They were trying to get me to race with Jimmy, but he is nearly a foot taller than I am, so I could see him draggin me to the finish line. :o)
When we were ready to go that night our van's computer shut down AGAIN! So we had some dear friends bring us home and we went back the next morning after church and towed it to a friend's house. What an adventure that was! haha

Today we are installing new boards on the stairs, we put in some boards that were VERY temorary and have put in some today that will probably stay until we get the upstairs finished and ready to move into. Then we will put in the final boards for the stairs. It is SO nice to have kiddos that can master these projects to help Jimmy now. I have done it for years while the babies were growing, now we practically have our own construction team. And they love it b/c they know we are building it to get access to finiah our bedrooms upstairs. YEAH! Their own rooms, maybe in time for Anna to get married!

In the midst of a break of stair installation, Anna and I made a homemade German chocolate cake and it is so yummy! She is icing it now, then we are back off to the stairs to finish for the day and put up the tools. That is the hard part.

Sad news this week.....Tuesday a dear friend of mine, Harriet's father passed away from complications from an accident on Labor day. This morning another dear friend, Diane called to say her father-in-law that has been living with them while she cared for him had passed away from cancer. My heart is just breaking for both of these families. I know all too well that pain.

Have a great week all and know that God loves and cares for you!

Yes....pictures later......stairs need finishing and cake needs eating :o)
