Stairs.....progress!

YEAH! I have stairs in going to the long (not soon) to be upstairs bedrooms.
Many of you know we have been living in a house that has a long list of repairs and probably always will, but we are NOT going into debt to fix any of them, so we do it when we have time and money and both rarely coincide! haha We have been working on the back porch for months now getting wood replaced and putting up siding. We have one piece at the top to finish but haven't been able to find the right piece that matches the others we purchased months ago. Hopefully that will come about today. This weekend we moved inside and built a staircase to the ceiling! haha At least that is what the kids call it. It will be nice to have access to the attic to work on it now, but we will need another full day or several afternoons to get all the steps in, I think the risers will wait til we are ready for carpet. I think we will probably finish upstairs before we put in the carpet so as not to have to replace the carpet when we are done. Things are a changing around here. Kids are getting old enough now to help in these projects (drywall/sheetrock, painting, sanding, flooring) and thankfully the have an interest in helping b/c when we are completed with it they each have their own room. They are actually excited about installing insulation.
Life is fun and I do not want to live a life of regrets! Taking time to enjoy the things I would normally say "no, not today".....go do it, tomorrow may never come!
We actually went out to ChickFilA Friday night and had a meal (with coupons of course) and ice cream afterwards. A huge treat for my bunch since 3 of us are allergic to milk products! haha Even went to the playground for a few minutes, but I will spare you the gross details of what one child before us left behind on the slide when they played too hard after eating! I had 2 kids riding home naked and one changed into a spare we just "happened" to have! Thankfully we could laugh about it after the laundry had cycled TWICE!

Now since the stairs took the place of my "coat cabinet" I have to move some bookshelves around. I never enjoy that b/c mine are loaded, some double stacked b/c we have so many books, so we rotate them, so no one gets bored. However, my 11yo said "We need more books, I know how all these end", now if you could see my bookshelves that would be hard to believe! I buy books before I buy supplies for the house, which is probably one reason we aren't finished with this old house yet!

Feel like I am rambling today......tough day for some reason. I cried yesterday during church and again last night after talking to my Momma then again all morning......don't know why, things just keep creeping into my mind and when I let my guard down, I cry. I feel tired sometimes of holding my guard up so much and have to let the levee go. Feels better that way when the weight/things of the world are stressing me and I just need a "moment" to let go.
